All clutches operate basically the same whether you are driving rig or a motorcycle. Disengaging the clutch allows you to shift into a higher or lower gear and keep motoring on. Some purists may still like the old Harley foot clutch. These clutches were called “suicide” for good reason. Riders that experienced can perform this switch, but it is generally too difficult for novices. These foot clutches went out of vogue in the nineteen fifties, but can still be found and do hearken back to the days of the original machines. If you are a purist then this is the clutch for you.
