Get the Harley-davidson Flsts Gas Tanks, Both Halves, 1998. While You Can! - This product is listed on eBay, right now @ $749.00 But you've only got until 2010-05-22T05:01:09.000Z to get these tickets, so you'd better hurry!

This listing is for the fuel tank (s) taken off a 1998 Softail Heritage Springer (FLSTS), my own personal,  babied bike.  These tanks are finished in what is probably the most desirable color combination for the1998 Heritage Springer - don't get me wrong; I love the '97 Birch White color schemes, a very close second-choice  The Harley-Davidson Vivid Black paint on this twelve year old tank is still a mile deep.  This is by no means a tank you might see and admire from a distance of twenty feet.  This paint, on the other hand, still bears up under close scrutiny.  There is only one small stone chip of approximately 1/8" on the forward part of one half that isn't seen when the tanks are mounted.  I have waxed the tanks but you may wish to polish (no, don't buff), and then re-wax  That's up to you.  I am trying to make the point that any minor imperfections can be taken care of with a judicious hand-polishing.  Me?  I would simply bolt them up and connect the fuel lines, (included).  They are that nice.

Now we're getting to the price.  This will be my first "Best Offer" listing.  I am not here to gouge anyone.  But you should be aware that these tanks are obsolete - you cannot simply call Harley and place an order for these tanks.  In fact, when carried in their catalogue, they were sold unpainted and without those gorgeous retro emblems for over $700.00.  How about those eBayers selling the emblems alone for $100.00 -$200.00?  I know how tough things are in this economy - I'm hurting too.  But I also know the value of these tanks, especially because of their scarcity (particularly in black), so I will absolutely consider all reasonable, and I stress,  reasonable, offers.  Look at it this way - you stand a good chance of buying these tanks for a price both you and I are satisfied with.  Guess what?  I know who the gougers are on eBay and they probably don't give a hoot about what they're selling.  Supply and demand?  Is that like the price of gasoline.  I don't think so

So, let's see what happens,
